CORONAVIRUS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms
Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:
- a high temperature of 37.8 or above – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means you’ve started coughing repeatedly
- DO NOT go to your GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.
Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you’re staying at home.
Read the advice about staying at home.
Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:
- you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
Use the 111 coronavirus service
Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.
GP, Nurse Appointments and Prescriptions
Due to the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 virus we are constantly reviewing our appointment system in line with local guidelines.
Please be aware that appointments you wish to book or appointments that you already have booked, with either a Doctor or Nurse, may now take place via a telephone consultation or may need to be cancelled. We will endeavour to keep you updated about your appointment so please ensure your telephone numbers are up to date. Please be aware you cannot currently book an online appointment using SystmOnline or the NHS app. Public Health England have advised we are to triage every patient coming in for an appointment.
If you are unclear if you should attend, please call the surgery first
Please continue to order your prescriptions via a pharmacy or online. Due to the increase in telephone traffic currently coming into the surgery, we are unable to take them over the phone.
Thank you for understanding and bearing with us at this time.
